Kask Rapido Cycling Helmet

Product Description

The rapido is as nimble as the name suggests. Tipping our scales at 215 grams for a medium (a touch lighter than the official 224 grams that Kask state), the Kask rapido is the lightest helmet that Kask have made to date, which will appeal to those weight conscious riders looking to save grams at every possible opportunity. The rapido follows in the footsteps of the mojito and vertigo by offering sleek and subtle styling, without the bulky appearance of many other helmets, which further boosts the feeling of weightlessness. The 24 large vents found on the rapido help to circulate air through the helmet, releasing warm air out from the rear vents, leaving your head cool and fresh, perfect for long summer rides. The inside of the rapido is lined with removable pads, for easy cleaning, leaving no excuses for having anything but a clean and fresh smelling helmet. The retention system on the rapido pivots to allow for up and down adjustments as well as tension around the head via the easy to use adjustment dial located on the rear of the helmet. The pivot system enables you to position the retention system in the correct position, just below the occipital bone, perfectly cradling your head, for a feeling of reassuring comfort. The rapido features Kask in-mold technology that joins the inner polystyrene cap to the outer polycarbonate shell, for enhanced impact absorption without adding any extra weight.

As a male in his mid 40s it was only natural I started my love affair with cycling. Having already bought cycling attire that was the mandatory 2 sizes to small for me it was time I thought about the helmet.Ironically a helmet is one of those things you can spend a good deal of money on but never actually use for its intended purpose. As a result I was keen to buy right. So far my Kask Rapido has ensured I look the part without requiring I spend all my money.Thankfully I still have a sufficient amount left for my bike due to the generous tax breaks and my employers work subsidy, not to mention a good divorce lawyer.

I do a lot of road cycling and sportives/grand fondos in and around Scotland and the UK. I damaged my Giro helmet but didn’t want another because Giro are owned by Vista Outdoor (one of the largest ammunition manufacturer in America and very politically active in the gun lobby, with strong ties to the NRA). This Kask is a perfect fit for my small head and I’m really happy. It’s a size 52-58cm NOT 48-58cm as advertised. Kask don’t do smaller than 52-58cm in the Rapido range, so I don’t know what the seller is thinking with that size range. It’s a great entry level helmet for serious roadies on a budget!

as described, meaning all is good

Fits really well. Before I bought this helmet I tried on loads and this was the most comfortable. I had a bit of a fall with me being lame on a down hill. I thought I was going to knock myself out but the helmet did me proud and just a couple of dents so I bought another helmet exactly the same x

This is my second helmet, identical. I was thrown off my bike by car pulling out, I was thrown over the bonnet and landed on my head. This helmet saved my life without any doubt. The helmet was a right off but my head was ok. My daughter has since bought the same as she was so confident with this one now.

  7. A Vickers

Not the cheapest, but an excellent product – very lightweight and very well made helmet. Easy to adjust – make sure you get the correct size as there are 4 options. The helmet, once adjusted to you, sits very securely and feels great on. Numerous colour options.

  8. A R MCNEIL

Arrived quickly and a great fit with no fiddling, just a turn of the wheel to really get it snug. May have to take it abroad to see how it does in heat but it was very comfortable on tonight’s run (arrived today).

  9. Rodderz

Very comfortable helmet, not too bulky compared to other helmets, plenty of ventilation, nice design, competitive price, overall an excellent purchase. Seemed to be a little confusion whether this is a Mojito… It is!

  10. Amazon Customer

The kask mojito is a great helmet. The black one I have is fantastic.Unfortunately the helmet I recieved is NOT the kask mojito, but instead is the Rapido. It’s cheaper cousin. The advertised size of 48-58cm would be a perfect size for my sons head.Unfortunately, the 52-58cm Rapido helmet I recieved is a little too big at the moment. It is green though. The colour recieved was the same.So in essence the description bears absolutely no resemblance to the product recieved. The picture is that of the Rapido, so if I had taken a little more time to look. And decided to follow the picture & not the description I would have known.
